There are four engine options for the 2023 Silverado 1500. These start with a standard 2.7-liter Turbo High-Output engine but also include a 5.3-liter V8, a 6.2-liter V8, and a recently updated 3.0-liter Duramax turbo-diesel.

A Modest Mix of Power and Fuel Economy

The 2.7-liter Turbo High Output enjoys 310 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. It is standard on the Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, and LT Trail Boss trims. This engine will provide a nice combination of fuel economy and power, thanks to its turbocharged design. That makes it best for those who need to commute longer distances with their truck.

Pump up the Power

The 5.3-liter V8 offers 355 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque and comes standard on the LTZ and High Country trims. It is available on the Work Truck, Custom Trail Boss, LT, LT Trail Boss, and RST. If you plan on doing some towing and hauling and need a bit more power than the standard engine provides, this engine has you covered.

For Serious Hauling Needs

The 6.2-liter V8 has a massive 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and is a force to be reckoned with. It is only standard on the ZR2 but is available on the Custom Trail Boss, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country. With its larger size, this engine is going to offer even more muscle than the last. If you plan on towing and hauling heavy loads often, a V8 is usually the best choice, and the 6.2-liter will have more power than the 5.3-liter.

Power and Performance at Its Finest

The Duramax turbo-diesel is efficient and powerful, offering 305 hp and 495 lb-ft of torque. Vehicles equipped with this engine can enjoy the maximum trailering available for the 2023 Silverado 1500, which is 13,300 lbs. Three Cab Configurations

LT

The LT is like the big brother to the Work Truck. RST

LT Trail Boss

Get ready to hit the trail in this trim, thanks to a two-inch factory suspension lift and the Z71 Off-Road Package.
