A New Generation for the Colorado

The Colorado is all-new this year. Now entering into its third generation, the Colorado has gotten a total makeover. However, when it comes to vehicles, a total makeover doesn’t just mean a refresh to the exterior styling, though that is certainly one aspect of the new Colorado.

The 2023 Chevy Colorado brings with it new performance capability, interior design, and technology. Perhaps the most exciting new component for truckers is the performance, as the Silverado is really honing in on off-roading for the 2023 model year. Adding to its lineup is the Trail Boss trim, which has risen to acclaim on the Silverado, broadening its off-road horizons. In addition to this, the Colorado is updating its ZR2 model. This is all very exciting, but of course, new capability is not possible without new engines.

The Colorado adds to its engine options the new 2.7-liter Turbo Engine. Now, this engine is very exciting because it offers three different output variants: Turbo, Turbo Plus, and Turbo High-Output. So, no matter which way you turn, you’re getting that turbo power. But the power itself may be a little bit different depending on which one you choose.

The standard 2.7-liter Turbo engine is standard on the WT and LT trims and offers 237 horsepower, 259 lb-ft of torque, and a maximum trailering capacity of 3,500 pounds. Not bad at all, but the Turbo Plus definitely comes with a plus, namely, 310 horsepower, 390 lb-ft of torque, and 7,700 pounds of trailering capacity. The Turbo Plus is available on the WT and LT trims and is standard on the Z71 and Trail Boss trims. The Turbo High-Output engine is where the Colorado really begins to step into new territory. 310 horsepower, 430 lb-ft of torque, and 7,700 pounds of trailering capacity make for numbers the Colorado has never seen before and even begin to brush up against Silverado torque levels. The High-Output engine is standard on the Colorado ZR2, which makes for seriously exciting off-road adventures.

Brand-New Blazer EV and Equinox EV

EVs are taking over the market, and Chevrolet is one of the leaders in the movement. You may have heard the noise about the upcoming 2024 Silverado EV, and this is certainly a big deal, but the great news is that you are about to get even more new and exciting EV options from Chevy. Two of the brand’s small SUVs are going electric. Though they are considered 2024 models, the Blazer EV is expected to be available starting in the summer of 2023, and the Equinox that fall, so you’ll be able to jump right on them.

The Equinox falls into the compact SUV category, and the Blazer is in the midsize SUV segment. Both models offer seating for up to five people. The Equinox has been acclaimed for its family-oriented features and generous interior space, while the Blazer has provided a more sporty styling reminiscent of the Camaro while still being good for the solo driver or a family. While Chevy is currently keeping things closer to its chest with the Equinox, the Blazer is looking to be a very exciting addition to the Chevy EV lineup.

With a range of up to 320 miles, the Blazer EV will have drivers cruising for the long haul at up to 557 horsepower and 648 lb-ft of torque. Those are numbers you won’t find on almost any direct-injection truck, so the fact that a midsize SUV, even an electric one, is reaching such specs is truly a feat of automotive innovation. Thanks to the unique Wide Open Watts (WOW) technology, the Blazer EV will be able to accelerate from 0-60 in less than 4 seconds.

Electric vehicles certainly offer exciting capabilities, but for those of you focused on aesthetics, EVs are also leaders in design. The new Blazer EV will be offering a number of trims, each with its own unique design cues. The range of options includes standard design in the LT trim, sporty design in the RS trim, and ferocity in the SS trim. Of course, all of this comes with the latest and greatest technology features, each of which adds to the high-tech aesthetic of the car.

Corvette Z06

We’ve all heard of the Corvette. It’s one of the most instantly recognizable nameplates in automotive history, but none of us were ready for the all-new 2023 Corvette Z06. That’s why Chevy introduced the vehicle with a 26-minute short film. That’s not the ordinary way of introducing a new vehicle, but then again, the Corvette Z06 is no ordinary car.

Any fan of the Corvette is familiar with the car’s brilliant mid-engine structure, but the engine you’ll find in the Corvette’s mid-piece has a special twist this year: it’s a naturally aspirated V8. This means a cleaner, more thrilling, more uniquely Corvette driving experience. To help the engine perform at its best, the new Z06 design includes wider features than the previously released Stingray. Not only does this increase the Corvette’s ferocity in appearance, but the aerodynamic benefits also increase the ferocity of its performance. This is a true racing vehicle. You can certainly use it on the road as well, but if you really want to see what it can do, you have to get it to the track.

Now, there is one other very special thing of note for the 2023 Chevy Corvette and Corvette Z06. This model year marks the 70th anniversary of the Corvette. Such a major anniversary for such a significant part of automotive history calls for a big celebration. With this in mind, Chevy is offering a very special 70th Anniversary Edition of the Stingray and the Z06. You’ll be able to get a suede steering wheel, a custom luggage set, wheel center caps, flags, seats, sill plates, and side badging, all with 70th Anniversary Edition logos.
